OSHA has scheduled the 8th annual National Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction for May 3-

2021 Falls Stand-Down Kick-Off Event Flyer

This year, our partner in the Fall Prevention Campaign, NIOSH, will use their network to host the event.
OSHA encourages construction employers and other stakeholders to join the event to promote
awareness and training to address one of the industry’s most serious dangers. OSHA’s Fall
Prevention Stand-Down webpage offers a wide range of compliance resources in many languages,
including Spanish, Polish, Russian and Portuguese. OSHA also encourages everyone to use #StandDown4Safety to promote the event on social media, and to share feedback after their events and obtain a personalized certificate of participation.

Please visit the Press Release and the OSHA’s Fall Prevention Stand-Down webpage for more
information.

We also wanted to make you aware of an educational webinar on Fall Harness Fit: The Basics in
coordination with the National Roofing Contractors Association (NRCA). The webinar is scheduled
for April 28, 2021 at 1:00 PM (Eastern) and will include speakers from OSHA, NRCA, and CPWR. More
information on the webinar and registration is available here.

In addition to the Fall Harness Fit webinar, two new Spanish resources are available for your use in
support of the Campaign and National Safety Stand-Down:

• Small Contractors Section (Plan. Provide. Train.) –

As a reminder, through our efforts with the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health
(NIOSH) and CPWR-The Center for Construction Research (CPWR) on the National Campaign &
Annual Safety Stand-Down to Prevent Falls in Construction, we wanted to make you aware of the
following Fall Experience Survey and encourage you to share it. The survey aims to fill gaps in
information available on common underlying causes of falls from heights. Survey results will be used
to guide the development of new CPWR and NIOSH NORA Construction Section Council materials in
support of the campaign. The survey will close in April, before the Fall Stand Down.
